Hang in There…

It’s Time for a new challenge over at DDSC and for me this is one of the most difficult cards I’ve made in a long time.  Now you’re probably looking at this card and thinking: “Why?”

It’s because it’s a challenge for me not to put things all over my card. LOL. I really love it when I see the CAS cards, but I just find it difficult when I see mine because I always think it needs more.

Ok, enough about me.  As you might have guessed, this little guy’s name is “hang in there” and can be found at The Shop here.  There are so many fantastic images to choose from and there’s always a sale going on.  Don’t forget to stop by and see what the rest of the team have come up with.  As usual their cards are awesome.  We really do have some talented ladies.

I used my Nestibles and Prismacolor pencils with Gamsol.  I did score 1/2” around the card and “stitched” the card.  The sentiment is one I typed on my computer.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Frosted Designs – quote
Allsorts – free and easy
I Did It – animals
One Stitch At A Time – flowers
DDH – summer
Craft Your Passion – sentiment
Stamps + Fun = Creativity – digi
Papertake Weekly – cute
Crafting For All Seasons – furry friends
Daisy Doodles – anything
Die Cut Dreams – 4-legged animals
The Stamping Boutique – cool colors
Clear It Out - anything
Shelly's Images - anything
Digi's With Attitude - anything

Thanks for stopping by. Please leave a comment so I know that you stopped in.

Hugs,

dj1952 (Debra)

This is adorable dj. Love your colouring and layout. Thank you for your kind comments on my card. I am afraid the scrolls are nothing to do with me as they are printed on the card stock.

Your card is just right for CAS theme.

Your card is perfect - nothing "more" is needed! This cute cat is the perfect focal point!
I can´t find a translation for "Hang in there"... does it mean, that you want to encourage someone to keep up although times may be difficult right now?

I have a hard time with CAS too, but its something I need to get over cos some cards need to be made in bulk; i.e, sympathy cards and I just don't have the time to spend on them or I'd do nothing else.
You did good, Debbie, I like the idea of scoring the card to give it some texture. I might steal that one. ;-)

I have always found CAS difficult...like you I just feel it needs something else lol. I like what you've done though, it looks so well balances, love the simple colour scheme, and the stitching is a nice touch. An adorable image too of course. Hugs lin

Please forgive my late comments hun, it was such a poorly household last week in our house. Love this CAS card so much!
Honey I adore your "stitched" idea so much I may just have to pinch it for the card I have literally just finished scoring. If I do, I promise to link it back to you from my blog!! Smiles.xx

Awwww, this is adorable!!! Your colouring is superb and think, CAS equals easy to mail, right? Lol!! I can hardly resist covering every surface of card myself, CAS is indeed the ultimate challenge!!

Well, you asked a while back (forgive me, I am not very prompt with things...) what I use to distress things with, and for the most part, I use TH pads, browns like Vintage Photo, Frayed Burlap, Brushed Curdoroy or Walnut Stain. Vintage Photo is my fave. Then I run the pad along the edges of whatever it was I distressed, then rough the edges up with scissorblades. Seems counterproductive, but I like the effect.

Welp, enjoy the rest of your weekend!!
