Feed the birds...

I decided to go a little more nostalgic with this week's card.  I know everyone loves the "anything goes" challenges, and that's what we are having this week over at Digi Doodle Shop's Best.  This image is another of the newest images by our wonderful Judy.  If you want to get some fantastic images at fantastic prices, you need to hurry on over to Digi Doodle's Shop before the end of the month.  Remember the WHOLE store is on sale.  Well, I don't think that means you can really buy the store, (LOL) but you sure can pick up some great deals - never can have too many digis.  Oh, and don't forget to go by and see all of the beautiful cards by the rest of  the DT.  These lovely ladies have really gone all out to inspire you.

The reason I said this card is nostalgic, is that it reminds me of Mary Poppins and the scene in the movie with the woman feeding the birds.  This is another card that for me, is quite simple as I have used only two dp's. These and the two buttons are from my stash.  The lace is from Joann's; and the punch is of course, MS, that I cut into a strip of paper and punched on one edge and then did the same to the other edge.  The corner punches are from Sizzix.  And then I distressed the background paper and did some faux stitching around the outer edge of the nestible.

Here's a closeup of the old lady.  I colored the image with my prismacolors and gamsol.  I tried to color her skin so that it looked a little ashen, so she looked a little weathered.  It also seemed to me that muted colors were a good idea.

I'm entering this in the following challenges:

I Did It Creations Challenge Blog - 1 image, 2 dp's, 3 embellishments
Sketchy Colors - blue, beige, white
Southern Girls Challenge - green  & blue
Crafts And Me Challenges - vintage/distressed
Shelly's Images - 2 buttons, brads or bows
Cute Card Thursday - any  sketch from any blog - (The House that Stamps Built)
Delightful Sketches - distressing

I hope you will leave me a comment, and I hope to see you at my next post.  Don't forget, I have candy for  New and  Current followers.

Hugs,

Just remembered you asked a question last week(duh).Decoupage scissors are small scissors with a fine point so great for fiddly cutting out. They were designed for cutting decoupage out hence the name!

I´ve a special feeling when I look at your card... it´s heartwarming on one hand, but also a little sad on the other, because the lady seems a bit lonely...
I like your coloring and also the colors you chose for the whole card - soft and decent...
Hugs,
Uli
