The Little Red Wagon…

It’s time for everyone’s favorite challenge over at DDSC this week.  It’s our “Anything Goes” challenge. If you win you get a $10 gift certificate from the Shop, to spend on any digi you would like; and there is always a sale going on.

Be sure to stop by and check out the DT and see their cards too.  They are gorgeous.

I seem to be in a very “toned-down” design style lately.  I’m not sure why, because I really like the frilly style, but I just seem to do a simple layout.

My paper is by Basic Grey and I loved the crackle effect.  The only other elements are the brads that I used, the nestibility to cut the digi and an embossing folder by Provocraft that I colored lightly with my Prismacolor Pencils.

I’m entering my card in the following challenges:

Just Some Lines – embossing
Mark’s Finest Papers – embossing
Paper Playtime – anything
Whoopsi Daisy Challenge – summer
Karen’s Doodles Challenge Blog – punches/dies
Stamp With Fun – summer
Papertake Weekly Challenge – die
Tuesday Throwdown – texture
Fab N’ Funky Challenges – monochromatic
The Paper Shelter – punches/dies
AI Factory Challenge – anything
Digi’s With Attitude – anything
Craft Us Crazy – anything
Sketches By Carly – sketch
The Stamp Man – summer colors
Basic Grey Challenges – anything
DDS – embossing
Stamps R Us Challenge Blog – anything
Aud Sentiments Challenge Blog – anything
Moving Along With The Times – birds
Paper Crafting Journey – anything

Thank you for stopping by.  I’m a little late getting my post up today, but my baby, (my schnauzer) Oliver had five seizures night before last and all he wanted yesterday and last night was for me to hold him and let him sleep in my lap.  So what’s a mom to do?

It’s Windy Outside…

I have been planning to do this card for some time now and finally decided to get it done.  I’m entering this in Little Miss Muffet’s challenge.  It was for cutting outside the die cut, which I wanted to do, but she was too narrow for all of the dies that I own.  Thankfully she is one of their images so I was able to do anything goes. Nice, huh?

Here she is close-up.

This is my second favorite color.  I just decided to use different shades of purple.  The gems don’t look it, but they are purple.  The flowers and gems are by Recollections. I’ve cut the borders with MS punches and the butterfly is by Cheery Lynn.

I’m entering this in the following challenges:

Crafty Sentiments – punches/die cuts
Delightful Challenges – wings
Little Miss Muffet Challenges – outside the die cut or anything w/their image
2 Sisters Challenge Blog – sketch
Crazy 4 Challenges – monochromatic
Gingerloft Challenge – sparkle
One Stitch At A Time – anything
The Crafty Pad – cute and girly
Whoopsi Daisy Challenge – anything
Happileigh Scrappin’ Challenge – cool colors
Paper Playtime – anything

Fussy and Fancy Challenge – 3 or more embellishments

1800 Vintage Lady

Is it Wednesday already? Wow, how time flies.  This week over at DDSC our challenge is to do anything but a square or rectangular card.  So get those dies, or personal cutting systems out and work away.

Do you like this beautiful vintage style, if not I'm sure you'll find what you do like?  Check by at the Digi Doodle Shop here and see what’s on sale this month.  You’re sure to find something you love.  There is such a wide variety of images.

I didn’t have to do much to this lady, as she is beautiful as she is. I colored the image with my Promarkers. The card is cut from the Wild Card cartridge by Cricut (it is the doily circle that I’ve stretched into an oval in Design Studio.) The paper, gems and ribbon are from my stash.

I’m entering this in the following challenges:

Incy Wincy Designs – something old (ribbon), something new (image)
Cupcake Craft Challenges – sewing
Paper Creations Ink – stitching
The Ribbon Reel – yellow, green, aqua
Stamp Something – summer
Catch the Bug – anything
Creative Craft Challenges – summer
Everybody Art Challenge – summer
AI Factory Challenges – anything
Digi’s With Attitude – anything

Don’t forget to stop by and see all of the ladies of the DT and see what beautiful work they’ve come up with this week, and why not leave them some love.  We love to hear your comments as much as you enjoy hearing ours (I hope.) LOL.

Hugs,

A Hummer of A Summer…

I don’t know why I like to name my cards, but this just came to me as soon as I started to edit the card.  Of course, the image is by Mo Manning.

I did this on the off chance that I might be chosen to be a guest designer in the future.  That would be so great!

Close up of top of card and bottom of card.

It’s amazing how many talented ladies and men there are who like to do cards, etc.  I know it’s not easy to choose just one project.

The recipe for my card is, as I mentioned earlier, my image by Mo Manning; paper by Basic Grey and DCWV, Lotus Pendant by Spellbinder's; border punch by MS; roses, jewels, bow, buttons and sentiment from my stash.

I’m entering this in the following challenges:

Mo’s Digital Challenge – easel card with animal and/or bird
Little Claire’s – wings
Crafty Ann’s – summer
Stamp Something – digi
Catch the Bug – anything
One Stitch At A Time – digi
Incy Wincy Designs – something old – image, something new – lotus pendant
I Did It – children
Cupcake Craft Challenges – sewing
Happileigh Challenge – more than 1 fold
Heart Song Inspirations – circles – buttons and center of pendant
Paper Creations Ink – stitching
Stamps + Fun = Creativity – sketch
Craft Us Crazy – anything
Stampin’ For the Weekend – spots & dots
Basic Grey Challenges – summer – BG paper
Gingerloft Challenge – summer
AI Factory Challenge – anything
Digi’s With Attitude – anything
Creative Craft Challenges – summertime
Everybody Art-Challenge – summer
Bunny Zoe’s Crafts – easel card

Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting my blog.  I’d love to hear from you.  But I understand if you’re too busy to drop a line.

Hugs,

Stamps R Us Challenge Card #2

Well, as I said, my second card for the “re-post” challenge over at Stamps R Us this fortnight was going to have a little humor in it.  What can be funnier than a pink and blue caterpillar?

I think that Doodle Pantry has some of the cutest images, as well as other great images.

Thanks again for looking.

Hugs,

Stamps R Us Challenge Card #1

Hello. This is not a new post for a challenge. In my search for challenges on Feline Playful this week, I came across this one at Stamps R Us Challenge Blog. Their sponsor didn’t work out for their challenge, so they decided to offer a spot as guest designer in a future challenge. As it says, it is a Re-post of an older card.  You can enter twice, so here’s my first card.

fishing 1

This is a card I did in September, 2010.  The image is by Lily of the Valley and is one of my favorites.  This is my more serious card.  Next I’ll be posting one with a little more humor.

Hope you’ve enjoyed revisiting my card.

Curly Top

This is the cutest little girl that I’ve run across in a while.  She is appropriately called “Silly Girl” created by Beary Dust Stamps that can be purchased here at Stitchy Bears Stamps.

I made this card for fun and just to see if I could actually make a card worthy of being published.  Of course, I know that my card-making skills are nothing in comparison to the many wonderful ladies out in blogland.  I don’t seem to really have a “style”; I just go where my mood sends me.  (And it sends me in all kinds of strange places.)  I LOVE all of the frilly girly girl cards I see, but I’m not very good at making them.

This seems to be my “style” lately – a little on the clean line.  I’ve kept the colors down to the two; pink and brown (which are one of my favorite combinations) I’ve added some chocolate lace that I purchased at Joann’s, corner dies made  by Provocraft (if you glue two sheets of card stock together it looks prettier), flowers from the wedding department at Michael’s, paper by Carol Wilson Fine Arts, Inc. from Tuesday Mornings and Spellbinder’s Nestibilities.
The paper was another sheet of paper that was in the paper pack, and I thought it was perfect as it was, with just a little distressing.
The punch is by MS and the sentiment one from a set you can purchase.
I’m entering this card into the following challenges:
OSAAT – use a digi
Catch the Bug - anything
Stamp Something – digi
Stampin’ For The Weekend – spots and dots
Craft Us Crazy – anything
I Did It – children
Thanks for stopping by and seeing my work.  I hope that I’ve inspired someone one in even a little way.  I love to hear your comments.
Hugs,
dj (Debra)

Lazy afternoon with your best friend…

august sketch ddsc

It’s that time of week again. Time for a new challenge over at DDSC.  I hope that everyone had a great time with the anything goes challenge.  This week we have the sketch you see above.  As you see, I’ve turned mine on it’s side.

I think this is such a lovely image and something that I can image seeing on a rainy or cold day.  Of course today, there are not near enough events when young ones want to stay inside and read.  They are too happy to be on the computer or latest gaming machine.  Stop over at the Shop and check out the great sales this month.
Also don’t forget to stop by and see what the lovely ladies on the DT have chosen to create this week.  I can tell you they're awesome.

The recipe for my card is very simple this week.  It's all been colored with my Prismacolor pencils.  I wasn't very happy with the front of the dog, so  I started over, but I didn't like the rest of that card, so I cut out the front of the dog and popped him up (which gave it  depth)and I thought it really looked better.   I’ve used Nestibles to make the mats, used the mesh and the items from “Dress It Up” for all of the dog items.  The background paper has paw prints all over it and is by Carol Wilson, Fine Arts that I found at Tuesday Mornings.

I’m entering this in the following challenges:

Dutch Dare Card Challenge – for a child

Craft Us Crazy – anything

Digi’s With Attitude - anything

Have a great week.  I hope you'll stop in again later.

Hugs,
